Hi!

My name is Anna, I'm 27 years old and I'm gonna move to Netherlands in a few months with my company. I am looking for information about jaw surgery and I hope you can direct me to the right place. Unfortunatelly I do not speak Dutch (yet!), but I'm starting course in December :-)

Over a year ago I put beautiful braces on my teeth and started preparations to orthognathic surgery. I know I do need underbite surgery and that was already confirmed by doctors. My teeth will be ready for surgery around May -June 2014, and then waiting time for surgery in my current place is around 4 months. Thus I could anticipate it to happen around October 2014.

The problem is I'll need to move to Holland in May 2014. Doing so I'll switch to Dutch medical system.

I really feel lost now. :smt012
If i do not move to Netherlands I'll loose my job, if I do move I can loose my surgery :(.

Would it be possible for me to do the surgery in Amsterdam? Is it covered ny health insurence (I now you can "shop" for health insuence here- which one shoudl i choose). What kind of doctor should I speak with first?

the surgery i need is something like that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luvRbwtalpA

That will be no problem I suppose, Anna.
There are a few excellent dental offices in Amsterdam.
And the top of the bill surgeons on orthodontic surgery are at the VU Amsterdam:

Here you are. Go ahead and contact them. You won't even have to speak Dutch.
The English language is quite common in Amsterdam.
The person you should be able to reach is dr. Baart or one of his colleagues.
